Arroyo to meet cabinet, sign tourism bill in Cebu

CEBU, Philippines - President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will meet her cabinet in Cebu tomorrow and sign a bill that hopes to boost tourism in the country.

Press Secretary Cerge Remonde said, “This is good news for all stakeholders in the tourism industry.”

The Philippines, which is famous for its world-class beaches, heritage sites, dive sites, eco-parks and friendly people, has been voted as the number one Asian tourism destination recently during a festival on tourism in Shanghai, China.

The main agenda of tomorrow’s cabinet meeting will be the Global Recession Impact Monitoring Report.National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) Secretary Ralph Recto is set to brief the president and the members of the cabinet.

Another important matter that will be announced tomorrow will be the name of the new chief of the Presidential Security Group (PSG), who will replace Brig. Gen. Celedonio Boquiren, Jr.
