Pickup hits Swedish nat'l
CEBU, Philippines – A Swedish national was hit by a speeding pickup driven by a 34-year-old businessman along S. Osmeña Boulevard yesterday dawn.
Bo Sandlevist was brought to Chong Hua Hospital following the accident, which happened in front of Sugbutel where he was staying.
However, the pickup driver, identified as Ryan Earl Wong, also suffered a leg injury.
It took personnel of Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (ERUF) to rescue Wong for several minutes as he was trapped in the front seat.
Edgar Banaag, security guard of Sugbutel, said he and Sandlevist were talking outside the vicinity of the hotel when the pickup zoomed towards their direction.
Luckily, the Swedish national was able to jump. But he was still hit in his right arm.
"Sa layo pa nag ikis-ikis na gyud ang dagan sa pickup. Swerte lang nga wa gyud masentro pagkaigo ang among hotel guest," Banaag said. – Ramil V. Ayuman/LPM (THE FREEMAN)
