Santa Fe incident: Gwen also sues Maui, other sexy stars for show

CEBU, Philippines – The sexy stars who were in Santa Fe, Bantayan Island for a show last Black Saturday are now among the respondents of an amended complaint of Violation of Chapter II,Article II section 19 (Pornographic and Indecent shows) and violation of the provincial ordinance filed by Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia before the Provincial Prosecutors Office yesterday.

The first complaint that named the owner of Rommels Beach Resort and the organizers of a “bikini show” was filed last April 17.

The additional respondents are a certain Chinggay, the show promoter; Mercury Gumera, the show choreographer; stars Maureen Anne Rodriguez Taylor or Maui Taylor, Jennifer Lee and Paolo Paraiso; and other persons whose participation and identities will still be verified and included as respondents.

First named as respondents were only Rommel Solomon, the owner of the Beach Resort, and Elton Tio, the organizer of the show.

The complaint is an offshoot to an exclusive video footage shown on GMA 7 Balitang Bisdak of the bikini show that showed models in their two-piece swim wear.

Irked upon learning that public officials and police personnel and the event organizer defied her executive order to strictly observe and implement provisions of the Provincial Women’s Development Code of Cebu, Garcia filed charges against those involved.

The governor has repeatedly expressed opposition to what she describes as indecent shows that desecrate womanhood.

Hundreds of local and foreign tourists as well as Bantayan residents reportedly gathered at the Rommel’s Beach Resort to watch the show and paid P100 as entrance fee.

The activity reportedly started at around 8:00 in the evening with a live band. At around 11 p. m., three sets of fashion shows started.

The first featured models in casual attire.

For the second set, the female models were already wearing bikinis while the men wore trunks.

The highlight of the show was the presence of the Viva Hot Babes, who strutted their wares on stage at around 12 midnight. — Jasmin R. Uy/NLQ (THE FREEMAN)
