CEBU, Philippines - A 24-year-old woman stabbed her 33-year-old male neighbor after an altercation ensued between them at a drinking session the other night in barangay Basak-San Nicolas, this city.
The victim was Raul Apala of Janssen Site while the suspect was identified as his neighbor, Christine Parame.
In the investigation, the victim alleged that he was having a drinking session with friends Ricardo Esdrilon, a certain Baby, and Parame at the interior portion of Cyco along Cabreros Street, also in the said barangay, when at around 11 p.m. the suspect cracked jokes that reportedly offended him.
This prompted the victim to confront the suspect, but the latter instead reportedly pulled out a knife and suddenly stabbed him in the stomach.
The suspect voluntarily surrendered to four arresting barangay tanods who were in the area conducting a roving, while the victim was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center. — Niña G. Sumacot/MEEV (THE FREEMAN)
