Tanod accused of killing man

CEBU, Philippines - A barangay tanod was accused of shooting dead a man whom he allegedly harbored a grudge against around 9 p.m. last Friday along V. Rama Ave., barangay Calamba, Cebu City.

The alleged assailant was identified as Reger Alferez, a resident of the said place while the victim was Winston Tuble, 38, and also living in the same place.

A witness told the police that the victim was standing by the roadside when the alleged assailant, who was armed with a handgun, shot the victim twice, hitting the left side of his abdomen and head.

The victim was rushed to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival while the alleged assailant fled. — Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
