Road user's tax anomaly is Lacson's next exposé
CEBU, Philippines - In the next days, Senator Panfilo Lacson will have the alleged misuse of road user’s tax as part of his exposés.
“I never get tired of exposing corruption until there is corruption,” Lacson said to the media in an interview yesterday at the Capitol Social Hall when the second consultative hearing on the proposed Land Valuation Reform Act took a break.
“Eight billion pesos a year but not included in the appropriations act,” he chuckled.
His exposé, in the “tradition” of the “Hello, Garci?!” tapes and ZTE broadband deal exposés, is supported by people who believe and trust in him, he said, adding that there are “many documents sent to him” supporting the alleged anomaly in the road user’s tax.
On the other hand, when asked regarding his desire to run for a higher elective post in next year’s polls, Lacson said that as of this time he is “more focused on his Senate duty”.
His term as senator will end on June 30, 2013 yet. — Johanna Natavio/MEEV (THE FREEMAN)
