CEBU, Philippines - A garbage truck technician assigned at the Inayawan Sanitary Landfill joins the Interpol, high ranking politicians, and international entities as awardees in this year’s 72nd Cebu City Charter Day celebration.
Eduardo Paquibot was nominated by the General Services Office for the Outstanding Employee category under the Acting Mayor’s Special Award for City Government Offices.
According to the fact sheet submitted by Councilor Arsenio Pacaña, Paquibot displayed exemplary service when he was on-call even at the peak of the Christmas holidays and repaired malfunctioning garbage trucks and compactors at the Inayawan landfill.
City information officer and SRP manager Nagiel Bañacia said Paquibot’s performance was “very essential since he did the dirty job of fixing the garbage vehicles so as not to hamper the collection of garbage in the city last Christmas.”
Paquibot joined all the other nominees which were evaluated by the members of the Cultural and Historical Affairs Commission and finally got the approval of the City Council in yesterday’s session.
Also included among the other Outstanding City Government Employees awardees are Councilors Gerardo Carillo and Edgardo Labella; Belinda Navascues, a consultant of the Vice Mayor’s Office; Department of Public Services head Dionisio Gualiza, Department of Social Welfare Services head Catherine Yso, and City Disaster Coordinating Council officer Alvin Rosthelo Santillana.
