Tuba delivery boy shot dead

CEBU - A delivery boy of coconut wine, locally known as “tuba,” was shot to death by unknown assailant in barangay Kang Actol, Dumanjug town at around 9 a.m. last Wednesday.

The victim, Ismael Ferrer Bendanillo Jr., 39, separated and a resident of the place, died on the spot due to fatal wounds he sustained in various parts of his body.

SPO1 Raymund Sala of Dumanjug police said that based on their investigation, the victim was driving his motorcycle from Dumanjug proper on his way to barangay Kabalaasnan to deliver tuba when he noticed the road was blocked by rocks that prompted him to stop.

At this juncture, an unidentified assailant suddenly surfaced and shot Bendanillo several times hitting him on the right buttock, left knee, and right side of his body that caused his instantaneous death.

Responding police officers recovered three empty shells of caliber .45 pistol at the crime scene.

“Naghimo pa og follow-up ang kapulisan para sa pagsuta kung si kinsa ang responsable sa pagpamusil. Wa man unta ni siya’y kontra, gani wala man ni siya’y criminal records,” SPO1 Sala said. — Christopher Gabriel Bonjoc/WAB   (THE FREEMAN)
