Lapu-Lapu fire damages P1.8M worth of property

Cebu - A fire razed six houses and damaged four others in Dimataga Village, barangay Humay Humay in Lapu-Lapu City the other night.

Fire investigator Rodolfo Apa of Lapu-Lapu City said the fire started around 9 p.m. but was successfully put out by 9:18 pm. Police pegged the total damage at P1.8 million.

While residents in the area allegedly would not want to cooperate in the investigation, Apa said they learned that the fire started at the house of a certain Casan Agunto.

He said a major setback during the rescue was the very narrow road leading to the village.

Among those affected is a three-door apartment owned by a certain Agusto Alejandro. — Ramil V. Ayuman/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
