CEBU - Lies can get you into trouble, just like this Ceres bus driver.
Criminal charges will be filed against Valentin Kindica, who earlier alleged that the bus he was driving as part of the Suroy-Suroy Sugbo convoy was stoned last Sunday night at Naga.
Appropriate criminal charges will be filed by the Cebu Provincial Police Office Director Sr. Supt. Carmelo Valmoria.
Valmoria said that the suspect will be possibly charged for making false statements.
The police chief said that right after learning about the incident through a report carried by The FREEMAN, he immediately instructed Supt. Renato Malazarte, chief of the Naga Police Station, to investigate what really happened to the vehicle.
In the investigation, it was found that the said bus hit a stall and sustained a broken window.
Valmoria said that a witness told the Naga police what really happened to the said bus.
“This is a lesson to everyone na gusto makalusot. Dako ni ig implication sa ato tourism industry,” Valmoria said.
He explained that with Kindica’s allegation, the tourists might think that their security will be threatened despite the police personnel deployed during the activity and incoming activities in the province.
Ryan Baylosis, legal manager of Ceres, said that they also conducted their own investigation which revealed similar to the investigation conducted by the police.
