Woman, jeepney driver shot in Mandaue robbery

CEBU - A woman and a jeepney driver landed in the hospital after they were shot by robbers last Thursday evening along the national highway in barangay Jagobiao, Mandaue City.

PO2 Gil Tomada of the Basak police station said Lyn Zonio, 20, of barangay Casili, Mandaue City, was waiting for a ride home last Thursday evening when three men on board a black Honda XRM motorcycle with no plate number stopped near the victim.

Two of the men disembarked and then announced a hold-up and took her Nokia 3310 cellular phone, but the victim was still able to shout for help.

PUJ driver Apolinar Bolonias, 40 of barangay Nangka, Consolacion town, heard the victim screaming and stopped to help but one of the robbers shot at them, hitting Zonio in the back of her hand and Bolonias in the left arm.
