CSC awards 5 agencies in CV for efficient service
CEBU - Five agencies in Central Visayas received the Public Service Delivery Audit Award or PASADA and the Gawad Award from the Civil Service Commission for their efficiency in providing services to the public.
They are the Pag-ibig Fund, Metro Cebu Water District, Social Security System and the Cebu City Government.
PASADA operates on the simple process of evaluating the delivery of frontline services across government offices using PASADA volunteers who visit agencies undercover.
It systematically checks the agencies’ performance to identify problem areas, highlight the best practices, and assist agencies towards developing more responsive front line services.
The award aims to remind agencies of their duties and responsibilities as service providers and representatives of government.
PASADA checks for transparency of transactions and access to information. It also checks if the establishment has a service guide or handbook, a public assistance counter and whether or not it has maintained a client-friendly environment.
Meanwhile, the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center, MCWD and Pag-ibig Fund also received the Gawad Agad, the award given to government agencies that process or work fast in providing their front line services.
Civil Service Commission Chairman Ricardo Saludo said deserving agencies which work for efficiency need to be recognized and awarded for their rightful efforts and that it is CSC’s commitment to recognize commendable civil servants.
Saludo said CSC is confident that their fellow civil servants will emulate the accountability, professionalism and commitment to public service exhibited by the awardees.
Saludo said that under his leadership, CSC will promote the Salary Standardization Law, which aims to provide compensation on output-based services. This means that compensation will depend on how a government employee is efficient and productive in his work. — Jessica Ann Pareja/JMO(THE FREEMAN)
