Akrho member shoots man in Kalubihan

CEBU - A 17-year-old member of Alpha Kappa is now detained after he allegedly shot and injured a 20-year-old man yesterday afternoon along Sanciangko Street corner Osmeña Boulevard, barangay Kalubihan, Cebu City.

The victim was identified as Gerald Caricari Maaba, a resident of sitio Plaza, barangay Apas.

Maaba alleged that he and a friend named “Evan” were crossing the street when he saw the suspect aiming a gun at him and opened fire, hitting him in his left chest.

This prompted him and his friend to run away and boarded a taxicab for Cebu City Medical Center for treatment.

PO2 Roehl Patalinghug and PO2 Raniel Cartin, who were walking near the crime scene, responded and spotted the suspect running to their direction while some witnesses were finger-pointing at him as the gunman.

They then apprehended the suspect and placed him under arrest.

The police confiscated from the suspect a .45 caliber pistol with one magazine and six live ammunitions.

The suspect was then taken to the hospital where he was positively identified by the victim. —Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/LPM
