Two robbed in separate incidents

-

Two men were robbed in two separate incidents in Cebu City last yesterday and Thursday.

Renato Ulan, 39, a resident of barangay T. Padilla and an English as Secondary Language or ESL teacher lost his Nokia 6600 mobile phone worth P21,000; a black leather wallet containing an ATM card, credit card, Alumni ID and cash amounting to P1,300; books, planner, among others when he was robbed by two armed men last Thursday while he was on board a jeepney.

Police said one of the suspects, identified as Lyle Paras, 26, a resident of M.J. Cuenco Avenue, was armed with a 35 caliber revolver.

The victim said both the suspects wore a silver necklace, bracelet and a ring.

Information gathered by the Theft and Robbery Section of the Cebu City Police Office from the victim stated that he was boarding a PUJ on his way home when upon reaching the San Miguel, the suspects announced the hold up by poking a handgun at him.

Out of fear, Ulan allegedly handed over his leather bag that contained his cell phone, wallet, and other valuable things.

Upon reaching the chapel area, the victim said Paras and his accomplice got off the jeepney and casually walked away.

In another incident, Romeo Songahid, 32, a resident of barangay Mambaling, lost his licensed pistol yesterday morning after unknown men broke into his parked car.

Songahid said he parked his “multicab” at the corner of Gorordo and Escario streets and left it to attend to some important matters. However, when he came back later, the victim said he noticed his cab’s door was forcibly opened.

When he checked Songahid discovered that his licensed Berretta Ammunition Pistol worth P48,000 was already missing. —Cressida Paula G. Delmo/WAB
