Two more suspects in robbery-slay fall

-

Two more suspects in the robbery of the RKS Gasoline Station in sitio Looc, barangay Poblacion, Liloan town, that left two pump attendants dead, were arrested and presented at the office of Cebu Provincial Police Office director Sr. Supt. Carmelo Valmoria.

The two suspects were presented along with the three others earlier arrested by the Regional Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-7 and the Liloan police.

The two were identified as Albet Allava, 24, of Compostela town and Ronald Necesario, 26, of Pilar, Camotes who is a former security guard of RKS Gasoline Station.

Armed men robbed the gasoline station last Sunday and shot dead pump attendant Erwin Pakatang and stabbed dead Jonie Andrecoso and wounded security guard Junrey Tizon.

Allava, who was identified as one of the lookouts of the robbers and is also the boyfriend of cashier Jean Marie Sotilleza, was picked up Wednesday afternoon while he was working as a conductor.

Necesario visited the CIDG office Wednesday morning but was no longer allowed to leave after he was identified by Sotilleza as the one who destroyed the vault to get the money.

Necesario denied the allegations saying that he was on duty as a guard in an eatery in Consolacion at the time of the incident.

‘With this development we can say that the case has been solved and we did our utmost effort in bringing justice to the death of the two pump boys,” Valmoria said.Sotilleza, along with security guard Reynante Barbero and pump attendant Martin Ygot, were arrested less than 48 hours after the crime, while on duty at the said gasoline station.  Tizon, who was hospitalized, is now considered a suspect in the crime.

Barbero yesterday narrated the same story as to how the crime was committed but now pointed to Sotilleza as the mastermind of the robbery instead of Tizon.

Tizon allegedly turned off the gas station’s security camera and killed the two pump attendants. Then he allegedly injured himself to escape suspicion, but police said after failing to injure himself sufficiently, one of the robbers “assisted” him but ended up seriously hurting him.

Police said this suspect could either be Allava, Necesario or another man entirely.

Furthermore, the total amount recovered from the suspects was only P73,839 and not P200,400 that Sotilleza was confident to have been the total cash that day.

The P73,839 comprised the P23,500, which Sotilleza initially set aside prior to the robbery, and the P50,339 recovered from Barbero’s hut.

“Sure jud ko nga P200,400 to ang kuarta,” Sotilleza said.

Barbero and Ygot, for their part, said they only got a few bills from the bag, as fare for their return to the gasoline station.

‘Wa namo ihapa, mao ra na tanan,” they said.

Police believe that the remaining amount may be with the “missing” suspect or with Necesario or Allava.

Charges for robbery with double homicide are to be filled against the suspects.  — Ferliza C. Contratista/BRP
