1 killed, 1 hurt in road accident

A man was killed while another was wounded when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a Ceres bus yesterday at San Vicente Street corner D. Rubio Street in Bogo City.

The killed victim was identified as Reno Aguilar, 19, a resident of Cantacson in barangay Gairan while the injured was identified as Romnick Tampus, 21, a resident of the same place.

Initial investigation by the Bogo City police said Aguilar was driving a motorcycle with plate number 7TC-F-2920 with Tampus as the back rider when it collided with the Ceres bus with plate number GWV 191 driven by Babie Lou Rosas, 35, a resident of Umpad, Mandaue City.

The motorcycle was running along San Vicente Street going to the city’s public plaza when the collision occurred, causing Aguilar and Tampus to fall from the motorcycle. They were then dragged several meters away.

Aguilar and Tampus were immediately brought to the Bogo City District Hospital where Aguilar was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.

The report said the bus and the motorcycle were both damaged during the incident.
