Overseas job applicants can now register online

-

Applicants for overseas employment with valid personal email account can now register online with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).

In a press statement, POEA regional director Evelia Durato said they are now accepting applications for overseas employment through the Internet.

The most basic requirement for online applications, according to POEA legal officer Imelda Villaester Lerrida, is an active email account of the applicant.

Lerrida said the valid account is the basis for the acquisition of a username and password to access the online registration system and basic information of applicants such as home address, contact number, passport details, date and place of birth, scholastic data, Professional Regulatory Commission card numbers, certification numbers for certified workers, and other essential data.

Lerida said qualified to register are those at least 18 years old and a high school graduate. Applicants must have a minimum experience of two years, and must be physically fit.

“There may be specific qualification requirements that will be posted and readily available in the online registration system and may vary for each host country,” Lerida said.

She warned that those with derogatory records, medically unfit and those banned from leaving the country will be automatically excluded from the POEA manpower list.

The online registration, which can be accessed through www.poea.gov.ph, is pursuant to the POEA Rules and Regulations that adopts a system of registration of land-based workers. — Ferliza C. Contratitsa/LPM
