A rerouting of vehicular traffic at the Mandaue City north reclamation area will be carried out for two days, May 3 and 4, starting at 6 a.m. to give way to the Mandaue City Drag Race 2008.
The Cebu City Traffic Group and the City Traffic Operations and Management said that all types of vehicles will be rerouted during these days to ensure public safety while the competition is going on.
The traffic group and the CITOM said the rerouting will be done in three ways:
1) instead of taking the north reclamation area, vehicles coming from the south or downtown area shall left turn to F. Cabahug Street then turn right to F. Urot Street to reach their destination;
2) vehicles from the uptown area that pass either Juan Luna Avenue or A. Soriano Avenue shall take F. Cabahug Street then turn left to F. Urot Street; and
3) trucks from Mandaue City that takes F. Urot Street shall turn left to F. Cabahug Street, then turn right to S. Osmeña Street toward their destination..
Traffic signs will be installed in areas along the rerouted path to help motorists.
The area will be reopened to motorists after the drag race on May 4. —Trex Eden O. Ignacio/RAE
