Three alleged notorious pickpockets were arrested along Colon street yesterday morning after one of them allegedly punched a man inside a jeepney.
Before the arrest, Johnny Añosa, 24, of F. Llamas St., barangay Punta Princesa, called the Mobile Patrol Group of the Cebu City Police Office and reported he was punched by a fellow passenger on board a jeepney heading for Mandaue City.
The MPG later arrested a man with the description of Añosa’s assailant and his two companions. SPO1 Jeffrey Diola said the three were later found to be notorious pickpockets already facing several complaints for petty theft.
The three men were identified as Greg Ligaray, 33, of Jagobiao Mandaue City and Michael Caballes, 34, and Rodulfo Panogan, 28, both residents of Minglanilla.
Upon their arrest, a pouch containing beauty products and a cellular phone was recovered, the pouch was reportedly owned by Teresita Banagwa, 24, of barangay Pilipog, Cordova. — Princess Mondejar CNU intern/BRP
