Man shot in front of NBI office

-

Not even the front gate of the National Bureau of Investigation-7 in barangay Capitol Site is safe from determined criminals who shot the former errand boy of the said office in broad daylight last Saturday afternoon.

Richard Apostol, 33, a resident of sitio Sampaguita, barangay Banilad, Mandaue City, was shot by two unidentified men onboard a motorcycle as he was about to enter the gate of the said office.

The victim was shot in the back and the bullet exited through his chest. A witness under the protective custody of the Department of Justice, who is housed in the said office, immediately rushed him to Cebu City Medical Center for treatment.

SPO1 Rogelio Nedamo of the Homicide Section said a certain Eldie Tumakmol, also an errand boy of the said office, reportedly recovered three .32 cal. shells and turned them over to the NBI’s ballistician for examination.

The said office is located just a few meters from the Provincial Capitol building and the Palace of Justice.  Edwin Ian Melecio/BRP
