Guv greeted warmly in “enemy territory”

-

Governor Gwen Garcia was warmly welcomed in what had been considered “enemy territory” when she arrived with the Suroy-Suroy sa Sugbo caravan in the City of Bogo and the town Tabogon yesterday.

In Bogo, stronghold of Garcia's fiercest political foes, the Martinezes, the caravan was treated to a fiesta-like reception led by Mayor Celestino "Junie" Martinez.  The same warm reception was offered to them by Tabogon Mayor Eusebio Dungog.

The caravan just came from Bantayan Island then dropped by Bogo and Tabogon before going to Borbon, Catmon and Liloan for the third and last day of the Suroy-Suroy Northern Escapade yesterday.

In Tabogon, Garcia joined the dancers in dancing Curacha and even sang “Usahay” before more than 100 guests including tourists from the United States, Japan, Korea and Europe.

The group also went to Huna-Huna Beach Resort in Catmon where they were treated to food and dance before going to Titay's Rosquillos in Liloan where they toured the factory before proceeding to the Parola site, where the tour was concluded.

Garcia said that she was very happy for the success of this activity and hopes this will improve the tourism growth of the province.
