Cebu photo exhibit held in Intramuros

Cebu province’s popularity is gaining ground as the members of the Philippine Press Photographers held a sidewalk photo exhibit yesterday in Intramuros, Manila.

Cebu governor Gwendolyn Garcia personally opened the exhibit of 78 photographs taken by seven photographers.

The exhibit, dubbed as “7 days in Cebu Province” features various subjects including the famous Cebu’s Sinulog.

The photograph of Chito Cleofas, a freelance photographer and a professional wedding photographer, won the top prize of P20,000.

Cebuano photographers, Ferdinand Edralin of The Freeman and Tonee Despojo of Cebu Daily News were among the seven photographers who were chosen to take part in the exhibit.

Other photographers are Cheryl Baldecantos of the Cebu provincial government, Noel Celis of Manila Times, Ryan Lim of Inquirer, Merlyn Acosta of Malacañang photographers group and Revoli Cortez of The Freeman.  — Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon/BRP
