Ceres bus sideswipes motorcycle; 2 injured

-

A man and a woman were injured when their motorcycle was sideswiped by a Ceres bus along the highway in Barili yesterday afternoon.

Police identified the victims as Reynaldo Ycot and Susan Ycot, both residents of sitio Alaska in barangay Mambaling, Cebu City.

Barili policeman, SPO1 Zaldy Orillo, said that the accident took place on a road curve where the motorcycle got hit on its side by the bus (plate number GWK 720) from the opposite side of the highway.

The impact caused Susan Ycot to be thrown off the motorcycle and Reynaldo Ycot to break his left leg when the motorcycle crashed.

The victims were rushed to the Barili District Hospital while the bus driver, 40-year-old Florentino Cabahug of Carcar City, voluntarily surrendered to the Barili Police.

Charges are being prepared for filing against Cabahug, the police said. — Queenie Chariz Dayanan, CNU-intern/RAE
