Six policemen including a station chief were commended by the city police director for arresting three men blamed for several robberies particularly in the northern part of the city.
Sr. Supt. Patrocinio Comendador commended Talamban Police Station chief Sr. Insp. Danilo Ergina Escober and his men SPO1 Alex Flores Avila, PO3s Jovanne Cababan Placencia and Jomar Aban Vizcarra and PO1s Muhammad Tesio Bungkalot and Lee Darnulo Fernandez.
These policemen arrested robbery suspects Manuel Vincent Cabido, Alvin Barrientos and Tony Daneo last February 16.
The police were conducting a random checkpoint in Cabangcalan St., Talamban, in response to the series of robberies perpetrated by robbers on a motorcycle.
The team spotted the suspects on a motorcycle and immediately chased and arrested them. They also recovered a homemade .38 cal. revolver with three live rounds and a pack of shabu from the suspects.
Comendador said commending policemen for doing what is normally expected of them is meant to encourage them to be an example to others.
Last week, the CCPO for the first time commended a civilian for helping arrest of a man who robbed woman along Osmeña Boulevard last February 12.
