A man died after he was run over by a Ceres Bus Liner last Tuesday evening in barangay El Pardo, Boljoon town.
Alex Gumera, 33, single, and a resident of the said place died on the spot after he was run over by a Ceres Bus Liner with plate number FVW-529 driven by Roger Harap, 42, of Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
Based on the investigation conducted by the Boljoon town police, the Ceres Bus Liner was traveling from Cebu City bound for the town of Samboan.
Upon reaching barangay El Pardo in Boljoon town, the driver said Gumera suddenly crossed the street and was hit by the bus.
PO3 Reynaldo Rolleon of the Boljoon police said that the parents of the victim could not yet tell whether their son had committed suicide, adding that they knew nothing of any problem that might have been troubling him.
Rolleon also said the driver surrendered to the Boljoon police right after the incident, and that officials of the Ceres Bus Liner already accompanied the parents of the victim to their office in Cebu City to settle the matter. — Flor Z. Perolina/MEEV
