A collector of the Rural Bank of Catmon based in barangay Poblacion in Carmen town lost P30,000 in collection money to a robber Friday afternoon along the national highway in barangay Dawis Sur in Carmen.
Ruth Belen Enriquez, 37, a collector of the bank’s financing program called Serbisyo Ihatag sa Katawhan Alang sa Paglambo (SIKAP), also lost at least P1,400 in personal money and an Ericsson cell phone during the robbery.
The victim had just finished collecting money from several persons who applied for loans in barangay Dancar and Looc in Danao City and rode a motorcycle-for-hire on her way home to Carmen town.
But upon reaching barangay Dawis Sur, a man got on the motorcycle and got off a few minutes later and paid his fare.
But as he was being given his change, he suddenly tried to grab Enriquez’s bag. When the victim resisted, he pulled out a gun and threatened her and the motorcycle-for-hire driver and was able to take the bag.
The suspect then rode another motorcycle-for-hire headed back to Danao City.
