Two persons were killed while another was wounded during a robbery the other night in sitio Kulo, barangay Pajac, Lapu-Lapu City.
Police identified the fatalities as Richel Dejito, 18, a native of barangay Kurba in Medellin town, an attendant of a lotto outlet in the Mactan Export Processing Zone, and the tricycle driver Ramil Orong, 23, of New Piñan, Zamboanga del Norte.
Dejito's co-worker, Rosanna Odalrita Balatero, 27, a native of Dagohoy town, Bohol, survived a gunshot wound and is now recuperating in a private hospital in Lapu-Lapu City.
Based on the investigation of SPO2 Rolito Jumao-as and SPO3 Manolito Abellanosa, the victims got on Orong's tricycle in barangay Basak on their way to Camella Homes in barangay Pajac to remit the proceeds of the lotto outlet to their employer, Felix Angara.
SPO2 Nicanor Bacayo said an unidentified man was seated behind Orong while the two women were inside the sidecar.
Upon reaching sitio Cagudoy in Pajac, another man flagged the vehicle and sat in the extension seat near the sidecar's door.
When they reached the place of incident, the man who was seated in the extension seat reportedly asked the driver to stop and got off, but he suddenly pulled out a gun and shot Dejito in the head at close range and grabbed her bag.
He fired again at Orong and Balatero. Orong and Dejito were killed instantly while Balatero was rushed by concerned citizens to the hospital.
Investigators said that Angara said the bag contained P15,000 in ticket sales.
