The Cebu City Police Office will be filing criminal charges against the alleged local contact of the three robbers who tried to rob a beauty parlor in sitio Tigbao in barangay Talamban last week.

The suspect who was identified as Gerrjan Manago, 25, a resident of Villa del Rio, was arrested last Friday evening along Panagdait Road in barangay Kasambagan during a checkpoint that was intentionally conducted for his arrest.

Manago was tagged as the local contact of the three robbers, one of whom was identified as Rico Lumantas, 57, who was shot and killed inside Jonas Borces Beauty Studio by PO2 Antonio Din while the policeman was waiting for a haircut.

Lumantas was killed on the spot while PO2 Din was grazed in several areas. Lumantas is an alleged member of the Military Intelligence Group-9 of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines based in Zamboanga.

Sr. Supt. Patrocinio Comendador, director of the CCPO told The Freeman that they will file charges of possession of illegal drugs against Manago this morning but will also try to indict him with the other charges this afternoon before the City Prosecutor's Office.

Manago was tagged by the police as the one who sheltered and fed the robbers and even provided them with the motorcycle used during the robbery.

Police found the motorcycle at the garage of the house of the barangay Pit-os Lupon ng Tagapamayapa member Florentino Cano Jr. who works in Manago's lechon and piggery business. - Edwin Ian Melecio/BRP
