Farmer shot by goat thief

A farmer landed in the hospital after he was shot thrice while a woman was arrested in two incidents of animal theft in the towns of Tuburan and San Fernando, last Tuesday night and Wednesday afternoon, respectively.
The first incident took place in barangay Montealegre, Tuburan, about 9 p.m. where Rolito Brigoli, 48, was shot by an unidentified man.
He was hit in the right shoulder, right side of the chin and right lip and was immediately rushed to Tuburan District Hospital for immediate medical treatment.
Initial investigation conducted by the responding policemen disclosed that the victim was awakened by the bleating of his goat. When he went out to check he saw somebody taking his goat, when he tried to approach the man shot him.
Meanwhile, a 35-year-old woman landed in jail after she was caught in the act of stealing a cow in barangay Cabatbatan, San Fernando town, last Wednesday afternoon.
Police identified the suspect as Marcosa Locsin, a resident of barangay Lutac, Naga town.
Naga policeman PO1 Edsel Ricablanca said the cow's owner Guadalupe Paradero 40, a resident of the place, saw the suspect trying to steal her pregnant cow, which was priced at P12,000, and alerted the barangay tanods.
