A 35-year-old man died on the spot after he was shot three times while sleeping inside his house at sitio Lupo in barangay Carmen, Toledo City Wednesday evening.
City police investigators said the victim, Nilo Mantos, had gunshot wounds in different parts of his body, and the motive of killing him was not determined fully yet except that it might be due to personal grudge.
PO2 Thule Tajanlangit said a cousin of Mantos, 26-year-old Doming Gallarde, who also lived with the victim had already identified positively the alleged assailant, Edjohn Limas, 26, of barangay Sto. Niño, Toledo City.
Desk officer SPO3 Gil Lastimosa added that the victim's sister, Yvonne of Tabuelan, had claimed that his brother once mentioned her the names of four people, surnamed Ipis and Limas, who will be held responsible should anything happens to him.
The city police had already invited Limas for tactical interrogation and paraffin test yesterday but has yet to book him as the suspected killer.
Lastimosa said a follow up investigation would still be conducted to determine the real motive of the killing and if the Lima's and the Ipis's were responsible for such. - Norvie S. Misa /RAE
