A 36-year-old man was shot and injured by two unidentified armed men just after he got off from a mini passenger bus Thursday night in barangay Campusong, Borbon town.
Borbon police chief P/Insp. Alexander Ancao identified the victim as Darwin Albiso, a resident of the place who was with his live-in partner identified as Girly Orque, 23, also of the same place, during the incident.
Albiso sustained gunshot wounds in his wrist, chest and waist, and was immediately rushed to Juan Dosado Memorial Hospital in Sogod town but was later transferred to a hospital in Cebu City.
Ancao revealed that prior to the incident, witnesses said the assailants were waiting for someone in the area. Moments after the victim and his live-in partner disembarked from the vehicle, one of the assailants suddenly shot him with a gun believed to be a .38 cal. revolver.
Responding policemen, however, did not recover any empty shell from the crime scene.
Ancao said they are now looking into love triangle as possible motive in the incident since they received information that the victim is a married man although he has a live-in partner.
He added that they are now conducting follow-up investigation regarding the incident. - Norvie S. Misa
