The burglary was discovered when 41-year-old Alan Dignos, the designated team leader of LBC-Bogo, reported along with others for work last Saturday morning.
Papers were already strewn about inside when Dignos and other office employees opened the office, prompting them to conduct an inventory.
Dignos found out that the burglars pried open his table drawers from where they took the money amounting to over P41,000 and his cell phone worth P1,200.
More than P31,000 of the stolen money was in an envelope and reportedly intended for delivery to a certain Pepito Correta of Daanbantayan town, while the rest were personal cash of the employees, including Dignos' 13-month bonus.
Responding policemen, led by SPO3 Emmanuel Masong, inspected the crime scene and initial investigation showed that the burglars entered by cutting a portion of galvanized iron roofing of the establishment.
After they were in the ceiling, the made a hole and made their way down to the office.
Town policeman SPO1 Rolando Torquedo yesterday told The Freeman that there was no security guard detailed at the office, and that nothing else aside from the money were taken away by the burglars.
A follow-up investigation of the case is now being conducted, Torquedo said. - Norvie S. Misa
