CITOM modifies 13C PUJ route
July 28, 2006 | 12:00am
To lessen the bulk of traffic along General Maxilom Avenue and Gorordo Avenue during peak hours, the Cebu City Police Office Traffic Group announced that they will implement a minor rerouting that will affect the PUJs plying route number 13C.
Traffic Group chief C/Insp. Marlou Martinez ordered the implementation of the proposed experimental rerouting to begin this coming Tuesday, August 1.
This scheme is part of the city police plans to reduce traffic jams during peak hours that usually happen during weekdays when private vehicles converge on the two schools at the corner of General Maxilom and Gorordo avenues.
In Martinez's rerouting scheme, all 13C PUJs will follow their usual route from Talamban to the downtown area, but in their return trip from New Imus Road they will not be taking General Maxilom Avenue towards Gorordo Avenue but will go straight along M.J. Cuenco Avenue.
From there they will turn left towards Mactan Road, then right turn along the Leyte Loop, then take the Samar Loop going to Mindanao Avenue then will continue the trip towards Archbishop Reyes Avenue to Talamban.
Drivers, operators and the riding public are advised to follow the new scheme so that confusion and misinterpretation will be avoided. - Edwin Ian Melecio
