Woman raped, killed in Oslob

A woman who was believed to be a victim of rape was found dead at the back of her house in barangay Tumalog, Oslob town Monday afternoon.

Tumalog barangay tanod Juliano Sarino discovered the naked body of Florencia Elisio, 51, near a day care center about five meters away from her house.

Investigation conducted by Oslob Police Station disclosed that Elisio, who is separated from her husband, was last seen with her neighbor, a certain Demetrio Ferrer.

Police, however, have already apprehended the 26-year-old Ferrer for investigation. They later learned that Ferrer allegedly harbored personal grudge against the victim over his desire to marry her daughter who is working in another place.

The victim's body bore several wounds and the lawmen found cracks in her head, which they believed was hit by a hard object.

Police have already filed rape and murder charges against Ferrer, claiming to have circumstantial evidence to implicate him in the incident. - Gregg M. Rubio
