Man hacked dead in creek

A man was found dead with several hack wounds in a creek in barangay Piyo, Tabogon town, last Friday.

The victim was identified as Felix Bustaleno, 45, married, a resident of barangay Pinayagan, Tubigon, Bohol, but who has a live-in partner in barangay Maslog, Tabogon.

Investigation disclosed that a certain Napoleon Puyos, a barangay tanod of Piyo reported that at about 10 a.m. last Thursday, Bustaleno went to his house and alleged that a certain Seno Retubado, of barangay Canaw-canaw of the said town and the brother of his live-in partner, had threatened to kill him.

At about 5:30 a.m. the following day, Bustaleno was already found lying supine at the creek with hack wounds in the head and different parts of his body.

Recovered at the crime scene was a saw believed to have been used by the assailant.

PO1 Dino Caputol said that prior to the incident, the victim and Retubado were drinking together. He also said prior to the finding of the body, a neighbor said he saw Retubado looking for a saw because he wanted to kill someone. - Gregg M. Rubio
