An ex-convict has been accused of raping two young girls in barangay Bonbon, Aloguinsan town, last Tuesday evening, after their parents left them to attend a church meeting.
Josephito Cedentario, 35, a native of barangay Magsaysay, Toledo City, and temporarily residing in Aloguinsan, allegedly raped the victims, aged two and five years old.
Police said the parents of the victims left the two inside their bedroom sleeping and went to their church located just nearby. A few minutes later they heard their children crying and they went home to see what was wrong.
They saw the suspect sitting inside the bedroom and found signs indicating that he may have raped the children. Emmanuel Ansit, a Bible Baptist pastor, informed the police of the incident and SPO1 Nestor Manalo and PO3 Justo Sosmeña came and arrested the suspect who did not resist.
So far only one of the children has been examined and proven to have been raped.
The suspect is now detained in the Aloguinsan police station waiting for proper charges to be filed against him.
PO3 Celso Taping said the suspect lived nearby in the house of his grandparents where he helps out with the chores, police could not say for what case he was convicted and imprisoned before. - Norvie S. Misa
