The Department of Education has created a task force to establish its information and action Center as part of the agency's "Oplan Balik Eskwela" that would start on June 5.
The task force will be held responsible for the improvement of the delivery of basic services of DepEd in the different regions in addressing all information requests, queries, complaints and other similar concerns.
Other than that, it will also assist in the dissemination and clarification of DepEd policies, procedures, programs, thrusts and projects and will coordinate with concerned DepEd officials on information requests and complaints from the public and ensure that appropriate and immediate action is undertaken by the concerned regional offices.
In the region, two senior staffs of DepEd will be assigned to the task force led by regional director Carolino Mordeno to respond to local concerns referred to by DepEd's Information and Action Center.
The action center which will run for two weeks from the opening of classes will be composed also of representatives from the personnel and accounting division, Payroll Services Division, Administrative Services, research and statistics Division and those from the Education Information Division.
The center will monitor and document all cases that they have received and will initiate a mediation process to resolve these cases whenever appropriate and necessary. - Jasmin R. Uy
