Teener, adult pal assault man who shoved wife in altercation

A 16-year-old boy and his adult companion have intervened in a heated altercation between a man and his wife by attacking and wounding the 40-yr-old husband at sitio Laguerta in barangay Lahug this dawn.

The teenager stabbed the left shoulder of Esmeraldo Camelo with a 6-inch Batangas knife, then his companion Winefredo Caballero struck the victim's mouth with a spade.

The wounded Esmeraldo was taken to the Cebu City Medical Center right after the incident.

Police investigators said the victim earlier had a heated altercation with his wife Benigna. When Esmeraldo shoved his wife to cause the latter to slump on the floor, the teener and Caballero immediately came in and quickly attacked Esmeraldo.

The teenager later surrendered to the City Police but was released after Esmeraldo chose not to file a case against him. Caballero fled from the arresting officers. - Greggy V. Omayan
