The fatality was 33-year-old Pablo Dayaganon, a cook and resident of Argao, while the injured fisherman was 26-year-old Genaro Mayol Lato, a resident of barangay Guinsay, Danao City.
Police reports reaching The Freeman said that Dayaganon got electrocuted when he tried to repair a microphone plug to his radio cassette using a soldering gun. He was taken to the Isidro C. Kintanar Memorial Hospital but the attending physician declared him dead on arrival.
PO1 Eduardo Semilla yesterday confirmed to The Freeman that it was an accident and that no foul play was involved.
In Danao City, policemen reported that Lato, a fisherman, was taken to the Danao District Hospital Friday night for incurring burns on his upper back from electric shock while fishing off the city's coast with the use of an electric wire connected to his pump boat.
Responding policemen, led by PO3 Glenn Manulat, said they are still conducting follow-up investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
Lato was lately moved to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for further treatment. -Norvie S. Misa
