Three men were arrested by the City Traffic Operations Management enforcers yesterday night at the corner of General Maxilom Avenue and Sergio Osmeña Street, for violating traffic rules and direct assault against a person in authority.
Police said Jhames Abay Lazo and Rex del Rosario, both from Talisay City, and Jude Dennis Santoya, of Asturias town, first ignored the signal to stop given by traffic enforcers conducting traffic operations near the WG & A Building.
The enforcers chased the three men who were on two motorcycles and intercepted them at the corner of Gen. Maxilom and S. Osmeña. There, Lazo asked the enforcers "in a provocative manner" what violations they had committed and punched enforcer Aldwin Raganas.
SPO3 Melvin Encarnacion, who came to respond to the alarm, was also hit by Lazo. Encarnacion lost his government-issued Motorola hand-held radio during the fight.
