One dead, two hurt in 2 shootings

One man was killed while two others landed in the hospital after being shot in separate incidents in the towns of Dumanjug and Argao during the past two days.

Petronilo Albarando, a resident of barangay Lingigon, Argao town, was shot dead by an unidentified man while he was at the fiesta in sitio Canliso, barangay Sua, Argao town, Wednesday afternoon. Police said the victim was shot in the left side of the face by an assailant who covered his face with a black shirt. Even after the victim had fallen to the ground the assailant continued pumping bullets into his head and body before he fled.

Bonifacio Zamora, a resident of barangay Hampang, Argao, was also hit by a stray bullet in the back and was rushed to the Isidro C. Kintanar Memorial Hospital before being transferred to a hospital in Cebu City.

In Dumanjug town, a 29-year-old man was shot inside his house by an unidentified man in barangay Lawaan yesterday midnight.

Arnold Belocura was already sleeping at the time when he heard someone ask for him outside his house. When the victim went outside the assailant shot him, hitting him in the right side of the hip. He was brought to the Barili District Hospital but later transferred to a hospital in Cebu City. SPO1 Joselito Abella said the victim has no known enemies, although he had an argument with somebody after he refereed a basketball game earlier. - Norvie S. Misa, correspondent
