Tom eyes 2 for Gador's PRO-7 post

Mayor Tomas Osmeña has two men in mind to replace Police Regional Office Director Eduardo Gador who is retiring next month.

While Osmeña did not reveal any name, The Freeman sources say Chief Supt. Silverio Alarcio could be one of the two men.

Osmeña has reportedly signed an endorsement letter to President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo citing Alarcio's adequate experience with the police force emphasizing his contribution to the preparations being undertaken for the ASEAN Summit in December.

Alarcio reportedly was a close-in police commander when the late Pope John Paul II visited the country last 1995. He also served at the APEC Summit in Subic the year after.

Reports further revealed that Alarcio was with Osmeña during the 11th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. - Chris Martina Gestopa
