Criminal and administrative complaints have been recommended for filing at the Office of the Ombudsman against two female employees of the city budget office for alleged dishonesty, by tampering their daily time records to obtain overtime pay.
Talisay City legal officer Aurora Econg, finding "probable cause", recommended to the city council's committee on good governance, public ethics and accountability the filing of the complaints against Nona Narca and Edena Abalo.
The committee-headed by councilor Serrie Restauro-in turn, endorsed the Econg recommendation to the Ombudsman "to take cognizance of the case."
Econg was earlier tasked by Mayor Socrates Fernandez to probe the veracity of the allegations raised by the city hall employees' union against the two budget office staffs.
