-
The Department of Education-Cebu City Division is currently accepting teacher-applicants for school year 2006-2007 to fill in the need for at least 150 teachers to replace those who will be retiring this year.

This was learned from DepEd-Cebu City Schools superintendent Leonilo Oliva. He asked teacher-applicants to send their application letters to his office, stating one school preference. Application letters must be supported with requirements like Civil Service Commission Form 212, latest 2x2 ID pictures, and residence certificate.

Certified photocopies of the Licensure Examination for Teachers rating and Professional Regulatory Commission certificate of registration and license are also needed along with certified copies of baccalaureate transcript of records with computed weighted rating and the copies of service record, performance rating and clearance for those with teaching experience.

Aside from these, Oliva said that certificates of specialized training are also needed along with the receipt of psychological and aptitude tests taken preferably from the Cebu Normal University and the original copy of the certification of residency from the barangay captain.

He added that the deadline for submission will be on May 2. Late applications will not be entertained.

There will also be an aptitude exam to be held tomorrow, April 7 and Saturday, April 8 at the CNU for all applicants.

An orientation will be conducted at the Zapatera Elementary School at 8:30 am of May 3, on the very day the interview is also scheduled. - Jasmin R. Uy
