January 26, 2006 | 12:00am
The Mandaue City council yesterday confirmed the renewal of contracts of two more consultants, Roberto Juanico Jr., as anti-illegal drug consultant, and lawyer Benjamin Tomimbang, for senior citizens affairs.
This brought to six, out of eight, consultants whose renewal of contracts Mayor Thadeo Ouano had requested the council to approve since late last year. Four contracts were already renewed earlier.
In the regular session yesterday, Juanico and Tomimbang appeared and presented to the council their respective accomplishment report for 2005, and their plans and programs for 2006.
With the confirmation of their respective contracts, which begins last January 1 until December 31 this year, each will receive a month compensation of P10,000.
The four consultants whose contracts were already affirmed earlier were Celia Luzon, Alfonso Albaño, and lawyers Paterno Acabodillo and Manuel Monzon.
Luzon is consultant on livelihood and development, Albaño is consultant on legislative matters, Acabodillo is consultant on real estate matters, and Monzon is consultant on labor management and affairs.
Only two more contracts' renewal remained to be confirmed, and these are of Mark Marquita and lawyer Isidoro Abinales.
The two, however, are scheduled to appear at next Wednesday's regular session for confirmation of their contracts' renewal. -Mitchelle P. Calipayan
