City Hall employees told to wear uniforms

To ensure that city hall employees will wear their prescribed uniforms, the city government will implement a "no uniform, no pay" policy starting Monday next week.

In a memorandum, Mayor Tomas Osmeña ordered the strict compliance of the wearing of uniforms, saying that employees who do not wear their uniforms during the prescribed days will be considered absent.

Employees of the city government are required to wear their uniforms from Monday to Thursday. Friday is considered washday.

Female employees are required to wear their old rose uniform on Mondays, aqua blue on Tuesdays, ashley on Wednesday, and beige on Thursdays. Meanwhile, male employees are required to wear their white upper shirt and gray pants on Mondays and Wednesdays and their white upper shirt and black pants on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The city government has allocated over P9 million for the uniform of its employees. Each employee is given P2,000 for uniform allowance, which was released during the fourth quarter of 2005. - Joeberth M. Ocao
