Alegria police seize contraband lumber

Elements of Alegria police in coordination with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources personnel confiscated seventeen pieces of Mahogany lumber in barangay Guadalupe, Alegria town last Friday afternoon.
The seizure was in line with their implementation of Oplan Kalikasan.
The lumber was seized from the said place on board a truck ready for transport while alleged owner a certain Quirica Baylosis eluded arrest from authorities.
Figures on volume and amount worth of the contraband items were not available.
The said lumber was turned over to DENR sub-office in Moalboal for proper disposition and appropriate charge is being prepared for filing in court against Baylosis.
