President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is expected to visit Cebu on Tuesday after she failed to attend the opening ceremony of the 23rd Southeast Asian Games at the Cebu City Sports Center where she was invited as guest of honor.
Fayette Riñen of the Philippine Information Agency confirmed the President's scheduled visit but said that they do not have her itinerary yet.
A source said the President has confirmed attendance at the Ramon Durano Memorial Sports Complex in Danao City, where she is expected to give moral support to the members of the Philippine Team competing in the mountainbike event of the SEA Games.
Arroyo's most recent visit to Cebu was last October 26. She was the guest of honor during the opening of Hilton Cebu Resort and Spa in Lapu-Lapu City. She also went to Olango Island to observe migratory birds in the area and assure the public that the Philippines is free from the bird flu virus. - Mitchelle P. Calipayan
