Now that COMELEC Commissioner Virgilio Garciliano is reportedly back in the country, Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña called on Cebuanos to unite and fight back as he expects that accusations of massive cheating here will surely surface again.
Osmeña, during his regular press conference yesterday, said that he has an innermost reservation that in just a matter of time, the opposition will renew its allegations on the massive cheating in Cebu during the last elections.
Garcillano was tagged as the man behind the manipulation of the presidential election, which eventually put President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in power for the second time.
The official went missing for a while but is now back and is reportedly willing to tell everything about the so-called "Hello, Garci" tape which led to a series of protest rallies and calls for resignation against the president in Manila.
Osmeña, however, said that this will be the right time for Cebu to fight back once the opposition will again hurl accusations of massive cheating here.
"I'm sure they will focus on Cebu. I am waiting for that time and that's the time to fight back," the mayor said. - Mitchelle P. Calipayan
