November 10, 2005 | 12:00am
An 18-year-old member of the Alpha Kappa Rho fraternity stabbed his older brother with a gaff inside their house in sitio Sambag, barangay Magdugo, Toledo City Tuesday night for forbidding their younger brother from joining Akrho.
Toledo policemen, SPO2 Larry Pili and SPO1 Carlo Canseko, who received the report about the incident from a neighbor, identified the suspect as John Ever Tolin, and Akrho member.
SPO2 Gil Lastimosa also said that John had earlier been recruiting their 13-year-old sibling to be a member of Akrho but their older brother Herbert, 21, was against it.
Initial investigation bared that John overheard Herbert advising their youngest brother not to join Akrho, prompting him to confront and stab Herbert in the chest.
Herbert was taken first to the Toledo City Hospital before he was moved to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center while John fled right after the incident and is now at-large. Further case investigation is still being conducted. - Norvie S. Misa
